Lois made her dad a FBI agent. So he needs to find out who is selling drugs. He goes to the airport and goes up to the guy that is selling drugs and takes him to court. The guy shot at him in court and the judge put him in jail. Now he sends a guy out guy named vamp. Vamp goes ou and tries to kill "georges" family. So he had to put his family under a program where that the government can relotcate them. First the go to the "mayflower'' ,but Vamp follows them there and kills their body gaurd. Now the have to go to Florida and have their own house. Lois's character April misses ''Steve'' so she runs back to norwood Virginia. When she gets there and sees that Vamp broke her grandmothers arm. She has to take her grandmotherto florida because her grandmother needs to see her daughter. April has to drive her all the way to florida where she ran away from. There was a car following them there. When she got there she saw car in the ditch that was her mothers. Then she saw head lights behind her. It was Vamp her and her grandmother tried to rum, but he captured them and put them in a closet. Good thing there were excape hatches in the cieling. So April climbed up there and went to her brother bram's room and went outside to get the car and drive to get help. Vamp saw her and went to the car and forsed her to get out. April is a tennis player so there was a tennis racket in the back seat. She gets it and gets out and swings the racket hard as she could, Vamp went tothe ground. She figured out that he is dead. Her parents come right after she killed him and gave them big huggs and kisses. They all came and made their disision that The drug seller could send out another killer . The family wants to relocate again so they won't lose their family. April had to make the biggest disicision of her like "Steve" or her family. She loves her family the most so she pics to go with them.

why lois duncan wrote the novel

Lois Duncan wrote this novel because,she dreamed of meeting a boy at her new school. I think romantic, and I had to read on the edge of my seat just to see whats going to happen next. In her book, she says that''Steve'' and her are a great couple. They met after school in the tennis court,going to parties at sherry's house, and mostly the prom. Just spending time with him. While in her real life they don't know each other.''Steve'' stares at Lois in chemistry class. Lois notices , but to shy to go over there and say ''hi''. One day in her real life she saw him at the mall and went over there Lois says she is a brave teenage girl to walk over there and say ''hello''. Since lois was new at the school in Norwood and didn't know any one there, ''Steve'' told her ''we should go out and I'll show you around.''In her book she went to a dance at sherry's party with steve thats the first time they met. At the mall the next thing ''Steve said was '' there will be some christmas parties lois thought about that one special night. ''Steve'' and lois loved each other. They might love each other forever.
